Well, this is pretty cool!! 2018 (and 2015!) Rockin’ Recipient Brandon Gruber was a featured speaker at last month’s 5th annual Inclusioneers Unite Conference through Inclusion Collaborative & the Santa Clara Co. Office of Education. Check him out on p. 9 of the conference PDF – he spoke w/ his amazing parents and one of his mentor/case managers about his path through education and self-advocacy, and the importance and benefits of inclusion.
His mom wrote this about the experience: “Many of you know Brandon’s struggles after we moved from Brentwood. Under the leadership of Margo and Kristin, Brandon had the best elementary and middle teachers and school experiences. Brandon’s difficult times he faced has made him the self advocate he has become since high school. Tim Cecy, his 4th and final case manager, saw potential and helped all of through some rough times. But many of you were on the sidelines and I want to thank you! Now we will share some lessons learned.”
