Every year in October, the worldwide Down syndrome community comes together to celebrate the pure amazingness of peeps who are rockin’ that extra chromosome! At Ruby’s Rainbow, we LOVE Down Syndrome Awareness Month!! How could we not? It’s an entire 31 days devoted to spreading the word about not just our own inspiring Rockin’ Recipients, but ALL people with trisomy-21—that magical, extra copy of the 21st chromosome that creates Down syndrome!
Of course, around here at Ruby’s Rainbow, we celebrate peeps rockin’ that extra chromosome all year round!! We also celebrate a lil’ extra every March during our annual 3/21 Pledge event, from March 7 through World Down Syndrome Day – when we spread the word and raise funds to provide scholarships to more Rockin’ Recipients!
Whether you have Down syndrome or you know and love someone who does, YOU are a part of this incredible community – and every day, and especially during the month of October, is a great time to shout to the rooftops the worth of individuals with Down syndrome! THANK YOU for helping us spread the good word!!!
