This girl. I worry so much every year at the beginning of the school year about so many things. She didn’t have any of her little BFF’s in her class this year again so I worry about friendships and the gap growing. The coursework gets harder and I worry about her keeping up on her level within the curriculum. Will her new teachers believe in her the way I do? How is she going to keep up?! Will the kids in the new class be able to understand her and love her the way we do?

As each year passes all of these things are shifting more and more out of my control and into hers. I mean that’s what is supposed to happen…right? What she is showing me is that she is becoming an independent lil’ lady, but just as important is she has the confidence to be exactly who she is and be proud of it. Her excitement for all things is infectious and fills the hearts of those around her. Her homework this week was an “About Me Museum” and she chose to write about her family, hip-hop and of course her @pridesocks (bc it has all her fave things😍😂) and I couldn’t be more proud of the lil’ lady she is becoming.

And when I picked her up yesterday she was sitting cross-legged with two new friends, deep in conversation- she was doing the talking and they were intently listening- so something tells me this girl is gonna be just fine❤️
