We are so proud of Sarah! She is currently studying away from home, at Northeastern State University. This current semester she is taking Theater Appreciation, Reading Enhancement, and Interpersonal Communication. In addition to all that, she is also working 10 hours a week on campus as a library aide! Sarah’s dad told us that, “She really likes the program and school and she did well.”

Back when Sarah wrote her application essay, she said her goal after she finished with college was to be able to, “Help other students with special needs to be able to do the same things I have been able to do.” Also in her essay, she expressed her love for theater so we are super happy to hear that she is continuing to take classes through college, like theater Appreciation.

Sarah has also been selected as one of the 2019 Champion of Change Awards by the National Down Syndrome Society! The Champion of Change Awards is given to those who work throughout the year as advocates for positive and systematic change for the Down Syndrome community.

We are so happy and that you are enjoying college and your program. We are SO INCREDIBLY PROUD of all the hard work that you have done so far. We can’t wait to hear more from you about what you are up to. Keep up all the good work!
