We caught up with Rockin’ Recipient Kelly, who will be graduating from VCU’s ACE IT in College Program in December. She currently has TWO jobs, one as a busser at Max’s Positive Vibe Café (sounds like my kind of place!) and an assistant teacher at a local child development center. She has been at Max’s since 2015, but first had to do a 6-week training program for individuals with disabilities who want to work in food service. She says the best part of her job is talking to customers…but she also really likes earning tips and a paycheck! Kelly says, “I think we all show that people with disabilities want to work and can do good work.”

Her dream is to be a teacher, and she is one step closer with her new job working at the child development center. Right now, she assists teachers with snack time & clean up – and she gets to play with the babies and toddlers when she has free time, which is her favorite part!!

Kelly, we are so proud of you!! Keep on rockin’ it!!
