Samantha will begin her first year at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs this fall. She plans to become a dance teacher someday.
Samantha is an avid athlete who loves dancing hip-hop, modern and ballet; she also played basketball with the El Paso Heat. She was Homecoming Queen in high school and has been an active member of Gigi’s Playhouse and her local Down Syndrome Association.
In her scholarship application, Samantha wrote, “Don’t judge a book by its cover. I want people to know that anything is possible but it takes hard work.” That’s exactly the right attitude, Samantha! We know you’re going to keep on rockin’ it at UCCS!
