Leslie is entering her first year at Texas A&M University, first in the B2C (Bridge to Career) program and then in the PATHS Certificate Program, where she plans to study to become a teacher’s assistant. She also wants to learn more about computers, photography and cooking.

Leslie maintained a 3.8 GPA in high school. An accomplished athlete, she has competed at the regional and state levels in Special Olympics bowling, swimming and track and field. She has also done extensive volunteer work, including helping with post-hurricane cleanup along the Gulf Coast in her home state of Texas. In her free time, she loves drawing, reading, dancing and watching Netflix.

In her scholarship application, Leslie wrote, “My journey with Down syndrome has been very hard. As a baby I was very sick, so learning was very hard.” Leslie, you have impressed us with your ability to push through challenges, persevere and come out on top! We are rooting for you as you start your college career!
