“I graduated from the University of Cincinnati TAP program in 2016 and have been working on campus since then. I work in a cafe on campus Monday through Friday. I still go to football and basketball games and meet up with my friends that I have met through the TAP program. I take a gym class every semester and I love being on campus. I have moved closer to campus and am able to get back and forth to work and class by the shuttle system. I am transitioning to my own apartment, learning to cook and take care of my place. I still participate in Special Olympics in tennis, softball, swimming and golf. A lot has stopped with the virus, but I am now back to work!!
“I am proud of Having a job, moving to a new place and getting to and from work by myself. Being more independent.
“Ruby’s Rainbows helped financially with college expenses. This was very helpful. But also Ruby’s Rainbow recognizes the abilities of people with Down Syndrome and realizes that people living with Down Syndrome have a lot of potential and can ‘reach for that rainbow!!'”
Peter, you keep reaching for that rainbow!! We are so proud of you!!!
