“I learned about Ruby’s Rainbow back in early 2012, when my daughter, Pearl, who is rockin’ an extra chromosome, was just six months old. I thought Liz, Ruby and the whole family were SO COOL, and I was so happy to meet another family like ours – who thought the Down syndrome diagnosis was awesome, their kid had a ton of potential, and the future was bright. That was how I felt about Pearly!
I loved what Ruby’s Rainbow was all about and couldn’t wait to get involved – so I just kinda hung around and made a nuisance of myself until they started letting me be involved ![😂](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==)
Over the past six years, I’ve been proud to serve as a Ruby’s Rainbow Board member, do freelance writing for the organization, and work in-house for the past two years doing administrative work. I am so grateful to have found this amazing organization that is truly making our community stronger, and to count Ruby and her family as lifelong friends!”
