Parker is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Warriors For Walt Scholarship Award. This fall he begins his freshman year in the REACH program at the University of Iowa, where he is looking forward to experiencing college life as an Iowa Hawkeye, living on a Big 10 campus, and gaining independence and career skills.
Parker’s hobbies include playing basketball, memorizing sports facts, and watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Cubs, the Lakers and the Chiefs. He also loves playing video games online with his friends and rocking out to music on road trips or while doing chores around the house.
During his senior year in high school, Parker started his first varsity basketball game on Senior Night and scored the first two points of the game. He loves being a part of the team. He also does weekly NFL picks on X (formerly known as Twitter). The quote he chose for his senior yearbook was, “Your future is only as good as the work you put into it. And there is always room for ice cream.”
