Cristina is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Ayala Scholarship Award. She is a sophomore in the Redwood SEED Scholars program at the University of California, Davis, where she is very excited to work toward being an independent woman. She hopes to study nutrition and have a job in that field someday, and to live with friends after graduation.
In high school, Cristina was a cheerleader and was active in Special Olympics, earning gold medals in swimming and bronze in track. She loves singing and listening to music. She is also a self-advocate who is determined to show the world that no one should not try to limit her.
