Quincy is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Langan Family Scholarship Award. This fall she begins her third year in the PACE program at National Louis University, where she enjoys taking theater and dance classes. She is active in Special Olympics bowling and also teaches yoga and leads meetings for GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago.
When the pandemic forced GiGi’s Playhouse to switch to remote operations, Quincy launched Quincy’s Corner, a popular weekly program for young adults with Down syndrome to meet and connect via Zoom. She also started a walking club with friends, to stay fit and social even during pandemic restrictions.
Her teachers and mentors describe Quincy as self-determined, resilient and enthusiastic, and a natural leader. Her self-described goal is to keep dancing, to be a good role model, and “to be a leader in the community.” Quincy, we think you have already met your goals! We believe in you—you rock!
