Lucas is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Durham Family Scholarship Award. He will be attending the University of North Texas this fall. He loves writing and directing plays, and he hopes to pursue these interests in college. He is also looking forward to living in a dorm, making new friends and developing his independence.
In high school, Lucas was crowned Homecoming King, and he was very active in theater. He loves to travel, especially to places like Florida, because he loves visiting Disney and loves theme parks in general. His teachers and mentors describe him as eloquent and wildly imaginative, with a drive for personal growth. These are amazing qualities that will serve you well in college and beyond, Lucas! We believe in you—you rock!
