Kaeleigh is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Sailor Tracey Scholarship Award. She attends Green Oaks Life Prep at Arlington Baptist University, where she is studying in the field of culinary arts and hospitality. In her first year at Green Oaks, she earned her certification in food handling.
This summer, Kaeleigh was invited to speak at the annual National Down Syndrome Convention. She also worked at Chick-fil-A. She is an avid photographer, and her goal is to work as an event planner and photographer someday.
Her professors and mentors describe Kaeleigh as determined and enthusiastic, and as someone who embraces life and cares for others. Kaeleigh’s advice for other students with Down syndrome who are considering college is, “Try your best.” She also encourages their families to “love and support them and be there for them every step of the way.” We think that’s excellent advice, Kaeleigh! You rock—we are so proud of you!
