Hannah is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Lily Girdlestone Scholarship Award. She loves her college life at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she is a proud member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority and has just two years to go in the UL Life program until graduation. She is majoring in Criminal Justice at ULL. After graduating, she plans to get a job and continue her independent life.
Hannah loves singing and songwriting as well as ballroom dancing. She is also an active self-advocate and has been developing her confidence and public speaking skills in college. Her advice for other young students with Down syndrome who are considering college is to “Be yourself,” and to remember that there will be plenty of mentors and classmates in college who will want to help you reach your goals.
