Donovan is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow amaZing Z Scholarship Award. He attends Spring Hill College, where he is working toward his Bachelor’s degree in General Studies, with a possible minor in sports management. He is gaining experience in that field as manager of the Spring Hill basketball team.
Donovan had to complete the past year of courses remotely due to the pandemic, and is looking forward to returning to campus for in-person classes with his friends. In his downtime, he enjoys playing and watching various sports, and he is very close with his family. He is a member of Toastmasters International, and he has continued honing his public speaking skills with the group even since COVID forced a switch to remote meetings.
One of his Spring Hill professors describes Donovan as “the perfect Spring Hill student.” Donovan’s advice for other students with Down syndrome is to have goals, go for your dreams, and never say “I can’t.” We think that is excellent advice, Donovan! You rock, and we believe in you!
