BreAnna, better known as Breezy, is a four-time Ruby’s Rainbow Rockin’ Recipient attending Georgia Highlands College, where she is working toward her Associate’s degree. She has changed her major from nursing to library science, because she loves reading (but not so much math) and would love to work in a library.

Her professors say Breezy has an “unwavering work ethic” that will take her far, in college and beyond. Breezy acknowledges both her own hardworking nature and the need for downtime. She says, “I am trying to make sure I do things that give me a little brain break, so I have learned to crochet and am learning other crafts as well.”

Breezy’s advice for other students with Down syndrome is that college “is hard work, but if you set your mind to it, you can do anything that you want to do.” She also encourages parents and families to “please encourage them to do whatever they have in their heart. They should never be told they can’t do anything. The word CAN’T should not be in yours or their vocabulary.” We completely agree, Breezy! We are so proud of you—you rock!
