Avery is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Mila Morrow Scholarship Award. She is very excited to follow her family’s tradition of attending the University of Oklahoma, where she will be in the Sooner Works program.
Avery has been active in Special Olympics, winning gold, silver and bronze medals in events including basketball, bowling, and track and field. She has also been acting on stage since she was 10 years old, and has had roles in numerous productions. She is looking forward to continuing her acting training at OU and to developing her independence skills.
Avery’s teachers and theater directors describe her as bright, energetic, compassionate and a terrific team player. About herself, Avery says, “I am a hard worker and I concentrate on what’s important.” All of those qualities will serve you well in college, Avery! We are so proud of you—we think you rock!
