Rachel Mast is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Isla Korzon Scholarship Award recipient. She attends Missouri State University as a student in the Bear POWER program. Last year, she was the first Bear POWER student to be elected to be a Senator in the Student Government Association. She teaches dance to children two days a week and is active in her campus church. She has lots of school spirit and loves attending games, sorority formal dances and other activities on campus. She even won “Best Dressed” at an Oscars party!

Rachel says, “It is fun to go to college like my friends. I really love my life.” To younger people with Down syndrome who are pursuing post-secondary education, Rachel says, “College is fun. You make new friends and learn how to live on your own.” To those students’ parents, she has this advice: “It will be all right. They need to live their dreams.” Great advice, Rachel — we think you rock!
