Matthew McNeil is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Rogers Family Scholarship Award recipient, and he will begin attending Western Carolina University this fall in the UP Program. He grew up in Pakistan and Indonesia, and he loves people, horses and music — anything country — as well as baseball, gymnastics, cooking, working out, dancing, and all of his family and friends and his coworkers at his two jobs. In high school, he was the manager of the baseball team and a member of the National Technical Honor Society. He was active in Young Life and Young Adult Choir as well as the youth group at his church. He also participated in Unified Sports as well as Special Olympics softball, basketball, flag football, and track and field.
