Lauryn Schumaker is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Team Reezel Scholarship Award recipient and will begin her second year in the THRIVE program at the University of Central Missouri this fall. She is an avid dancer, model and photographer, and she loves fashion, shopping and making greeting cards for the people she loves. She also loves the Kansas City Royals, the Kansas City Chiefs (especially Patrick Mahomes), and spending time with her family and friends.
Lauryn is working on interviewing skills at UCM along with time management and independent living skills. She wants to own a floral business someday, as well as continuing to dance and take photographs. She says, “I like dancing because it makes me more confident, and I like people watching me dancing on a stage; it inspires me that my passion is to dance.” We think you rock, Lauryn!
