Kory Mitchell is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Dr. Yu and Associates Scholarship Award recipient, and she will begin her studies this fall at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. In high school, she was active in cheerleading and choir, and was nominated by her coaches and peers to receive the Spirit Award her senior year. She is also an avid swimmer, dancer and yoga enthusiast. She works at an interior design firm and also at a local spa, where she assists with yoga classes.
Kory’s long-term goals include working in a theater or an interior design store after she graduates and living in New York someday. She would also like to volunteer at a zoo, working with animals. She says, “I have taught people that being different is okay, don’t be scared. I can do anything!” We know you can, Kory — keep on rockin’ it at UCCS!
