Grace Rogers is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Rafael Haelen Scholarship Award recipient. She will be entering her second year at the University of Connecticut this fall, where she is majoring in communications. She loves to travel, write screenplays and make Youtube videos; you can check out her “Nerd Inc.” channel on YouTube. She loves the independence and maturity she’s been developing in college.

Grace’s advice for other students with special needs who are entering college is, “Don’t get discouraged immediately. The change between high school and college is a challenging one and getting used to it will take a while, so don’t immediately say you hate it. College can be annoying, but when you find good friends and obtain a good schedule, you’ll begin to enjoy it.” Her long-term goals include moving to California after graduating to become a writer. We believe in you, Grace — you rock!
