Elizabeth Sechrest is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Laura Jean Elizabeth Lee Memorial Scholarship Award recipient. She will be attending the Beyond Academics program at the University of North Carolina–Greensboro this fall. She has been active in Best Buddies and Young Life as well as her church’s youth group, and has taken weekly classes at her local ballet and performing arts center. She has also volunteered as an intern at both an elementary school and a preschool for the past few years, working with students on their reading skills as well as reading to the classes. She loves music, dancing, watching movies and going on mission trips with her family.
Elizabeth made nearly straight As in high school and plans to become a preschool teacher’s assistant after graduating from UNCG. She also hopes to live in an apartment with a roommate and continue being active in her church and volunteering with her community. Keep on rockin’ it Elizabeth — we believe in you!
