Darbi Brumbaugh is a two-time Rockin’ Recipient who will be continuing her culinary arts studies this fall in the Bridges program at Purdue University–Fort Wayne. She previously attended Impact Cosmetology, where she maintained an A average as she worked toward obtaining her manicurist license. Darbi has extensive experience volunteering with various organizations and events, and her team won first place at this spring’s SkillsUSA State Competition.

Darbi says, “It has always been a dream of mine to go to college. I feel happy and proud to be a college student. I would tell someone with Down syndrome who is younger than me to always try to do your best and never give up on your dreams. You can do anything even if you have Down syndrome if you work hard and there are lots of good people to help you.” That is great advice, Darbi — keep on rockin’ it at PFW this fall!
