Sarah is set to transfer this fall from the Propel program at the University of Missouri–Kansas City to the RiverHawks Scholar Program, a new program at Northeastern State University Oklahoma. Her goal is to mentor other students with special needs.

Sarah made the honor roll in her first year at UMKC. In high school, she was an active member of the Student Council and also worked in her school’s Activities Office. She has competed and won medals in Special Olympics at the state level. She was active in high school theater and earned an award for Outstanding New Drama Student. She was also designated Most Dedicated in her senior year. She volunteers at a local camp, working with children with special needs.

In her scholarship application, Sarah wrote, “I have Down syndrome but that does not describe who I am. I have learned to work hard and found that when I do, I can accomplish a lot.” Keep on rockin’ it in college, Sarah! We can’t wait to see all you accomplish!
