Rockin’ with Ruby – 3/21 Pledge Kickoff Party!

Join Pride Socks and Dane’s Body Shop for a celebration and fundraising concert benefiting Ruby’s Rainbow, featuring two amazing local bands, The Wheelwrights and Western Youth!

Rockin’ with Ruby is the kickoff event for Ruby’s Rainbow’s annual 3/21 Pledge fundraiser leading up to World Down Syndrome Day on March 21 — a day when we celebrate our loved ones with Down syndrome, including their awesomeness and uniqueness and all the joy they bring into this world!!

Ruby’s Rainbow is a local nonprofit that grants scholarships to adult students with Down syndrome who are seeking post-secondary education, enrichment or vocational classes. It is their goal to create awareness of the capabilities of these amazing individuals while helping them achieve their dreams of higher education — because life and learning don’t stop after high school!

Rubys Rainbow’s Mission is to help the amazing individuals with Down syndrome reach their highest potential.

The Wheelwrights are an acoustic Americana trio from Austin. A young group with an old soul, their sound draws a line from their shared histories: driving the back roads of Texas and Oklahoma, singing on a Sunday morning, and making music with family.

Western Youth is a six-piece Americana rock-and-roll band from Austin. According to the Austin Chronicle, “The group smolders with a Stones-y swagger under which resides Townes Van Zandt’s bruised-heart genius that fueled the elder Earle’s best work.”
