Kathleen is set to begin her first year as a Career & Community Studies student at The College of New Jersey. She plans to develop her independence and someday find a job working with children.

Kathleen maintained a 3.7 GPA in high school and was a member of the National Honor Society. She made honor roll consistently from her freshman year on, and was active in cheerleading, basketball and lacrosse. She earned 12 varsity letters in high school sports and was voted captain of her cheerleading squad her senior year. She also has a passion for writing and plans to write a blog someday about her personal experiences.

In her scholarship application, Kathleen wrote that she loves “changing people’s views about people with Down syndrome. We’re just like everybody else. Nothing more. Nothing less. Just the same.” We could not agree more! You inspire us, Kathleen — we wish you the best of luck at TCNJ!
