Janae will start her first year at Shepherds College this fall, where she plans to improve her math and reading skills. Her goal is to make more money to help her family pay for school tuition.
An accomplished athlete, Janae won gold in the 25-meter freestyle category at her state’s Special Olympics swim meet. She has also won trophies and awards for horseback riding, and she loves singing in the choir at her church.
Janae’s mother shared in Janae’s scholarship application that her daughter’s having Down syndrome “has turned out to be such a tremendous gift for our family.” We could not agree more! We believe in you, Janae — keep on rockin’ it at Shepherds!
