Matthew is a two-time Ruby’s Rainbow scholarship recipient with a very clear goal in mind… opening a restaurant someday. Every semester at WCU Matthew has the chance to complete a paid internship. He’s really looking forward to next semester when he gets to work at Haywood Smokehouse and learn a lot about what it takes to own/run a BBQ restaurant.
When Matt is not in the kitchen he can likely be found participating in sports, watching his favorite Michigan sports teams, or working out. He’s very active, loves to hang out with the many friends he’s made at WCU, and enjoys nature.
We can’t wait for you to open your restaurant Matt. We look forward to being some of your first customers. Keep on rockin’ it!!
