My name is Morgan and I am the proud mama to my sweet buggy, Tessa, who will be turning one year old in March 2020. At 35 weeks pregnant, my husband, Ryan, and I unexpectedly found out that Tessa had Down syndrome. We also found out that she had duodenal atresia and would need surgery after birth. This news turned our entire world upside down. The next several months were some of the hardest of my life. The severe anxiety and fear I felt were out of this world, but change and the unknown are always scary. This time in my life was necessary for my personal growth and for the realization that I can do hard things! I have recently left a job that I cared for deeply to work part time so that I can be with Tessa as much as possible. She is my constant inspiration and makes each day effortlessly joyful.

Ryan and I were married for almost 9 years before we decided to try to have our first baby. We got pregnant right away. I truly believe my entire life was leading me to becoming Tessa’s mama. She was always meant to be my daughter. I am so very proud of her. She is so sweet, smart and funny, and I have never smiled or laughed more in my life since having her. Ryan and I have such big dreams for her and can’t wait to watch her grow and figure out all the things she loves and wants to do. We will do everything in our power to walk alongside her in her life’s journey to support her in creating and living her best life. Part of supporting her is supporting organizations like Ruby’s Rainbow that believe in our daughter as much as we do! It has filled my heart with great joy seeing these wonderful and worthy people pursue their dreams with the help of Ruby’s Rainbow, and I am thrilled to be able to help in any way that I can!
