Hi Everyone! I’m Melissa! My husband, Grant, and I live in Michigan with our three boys – Emerson, Sully and Apollo. I can’t forget about our sweet Shiba Inu, Simba, too!
Our oldest, Emerson, is rockin’ an extra chromosome and has truly led the path for our family to step into the humans we were meant to be! We received a prenatal diagnosis with Emerson and were very fortunate to have a supportive medical team. They knew his worth then and we have not stopped shouting it since!
We were fortunate to meet the Plachta family at the Dream Retreat, a retreat for families parenting children with Down syndrome. They showed us what community was in a time we needed it the most. Their mission with Ruby’s Rainbow inspired us in so many ways! We loved learning about the important work that they are doing and how much of an impact they are making in our community, so jumping on the committee was a no-brainer!
We are so honored to be part of the committee and excited to spread awareness, inclusion, and worth!
