Katie Alice Walker

Hello, I’m Katie Alice Walker. My husband Drew and I have three children: Andrew (9), Alice Rushton (7), and Jayne (4), who also has Down syndrome. We love Ruby’s Rainbow at our house! When we learned of college programs that are available across the country that accept young men and women with Down syndrome to help them learn, gain independence and find vocational skills, we found hope. Hope for Jayne’s future and whatever level of independence she might like to have and hope that all three of our children may be able to attend college if they’d like to do so. Whether our Jayne decides to pursue such a program after high school or not, we’re thrilled to support other friends with Down syndrome who make this choice.
