Joanne Goughan

Meet the Goughan’s! We are a big family: Paul and I (Joanne) met in high school and married right out of college. We always knew we wanted a big family, but never imagined we would have 5: Olivia (age 24), Jackson (age 22), Zoe (age 20), Ella (age 18) and we completed our family with our daughter Charly (age 10) who was born with Down Syndrome. We live outside of Boston and our favorite thing to do is spend time together in our happy place, Vermont!

I think our vision for Charly, and why we are a part of the Pledge Committee, is best shared through what our older children said when Charly was born. “We will never limit her, we will hold the bar high for her, not treat her any differently and believe she will become anything she wants in life.”
