We are the Calacci Family. I am Amy, wife to Chris and mom to Emerson (Emmy) and Reese. After years of struggling to start our family, we were overjoyed to be welcoming out first baby in 2016. Emmy was diagnosed with Down syndrome when I was 20 weeks pregnant with her. It was a time full of fear for her future. I knew I loved her but didn’t know how the world would receive her. Connecting with families on Instagram and seeing organizations like Ruby’s Rainbow has shown us the endless possibilities and bright future ahead. Emmy is four and Reese is two, and we are having a blast with them. Life is so normal. We do what anyone else does with two young kids. Life is good and Down syndrome only amplifies that in our family.
