Amanda Ellard

My name is Amanda Ellard; I am social worker, a lover of dark chocolate, and the mom to three amazing kids- the youngest of whom rocks an extra chromosome. Lucy changed our lives from the moment we knew she’d be a part of our family, and she continues to shift the narrative surrounding what it means to have a diagnosis. Last year, on World Down Syndrome day, our book “Twenty-One” was published- in it, we describe the twenty-one lessons we’ve learned from our precious girl who changed our lives with her extra twenty-first chromosome.

My husband Britt and I live in Texas with Lucy Claire (2), Rhett (4), and Benjamin (8). We are passionate about making long-lasting change for individuals who bring a little something “extra” to the table!
