Kylie Andrews: Western Carolina University – UP

Kylie is a three-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Isla Marie Korzon Scholarship Award. This fall, she begins her second year in the UP (University Participant) program at Western Carolina University, where she plans to study culinary arts. She wants to be a chef someday and has extensive restaurant experience, having worked for Aramark at Brown Lodge on the WCU campus as well as volunteering at a chocolatier and working summers in the kitchen at a local bar and grill. After she graduates, she plans to live independently, possibly in a different state from where she grew up.

Kylie loves laughing and hanging out with her friends, traveling, singing karaoke, and playing Just Dance. She is a true foodie who loves exploring all cuisines. UP at WCU is the second IPSE program she has attended; the first program she attended wasn’t a fit for her, but she was brave enough to try again, and she absolutely loves WCU!
