Josie Kohn: Oklahoma State University – Opportunity Orange Scholars

Josie is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Amazing Grace Scholarship Award. This fall, she is very excited to begin her freshman year in the Opportunity Orange Scholars program at Oklahoma State University, where she is studying fashion design, public speaking and film production. Her future plans include working in media production as well as giving speeches for her local Down Syndrome Association to help spread awareness about individuals with Down syndrome.

Josie loves listening to music, hanging out with her friends and drawing fashion designs. In high school, she cheered with the varsity cheer team, was voted homecoming queen by her peers, and had the best senior year ever! As a senior, she was honored with the Principal’s Award for being such a great representative of the school code.

She says, “I have dreamed of going to OSU since I was ten, when my sister attended there. Getting accepted to the OSU Opportunity Orange Scholars program is a dream come true. My family is so thankful to Ruby’s Rainbow for the scholarship and helping me be able to make my dreams come true.”
