Martha is this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Sully Drake Family and Friends Scholarship Award recipient. She will be attending the Excel program at the Georgia Institute of Technology this fall. Martha is a passionate self-advocate who believes in the full inclusion of people with disabilities. She has met with state representatives and attended advocates’ meetings to further the cause of supporting people with disabilities. She also hosts Mondays with Martha, a vlog focused on disability rights through The Arc Georgia’s YouTube channel.
In high school, Martha was on the Honor Roll and received the MLK Award for service to her school. She has received numerous other awards and distinctions, including the 2020 Advocate of the Year award from the Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta and the 2020 Superintendent’s Award of Excellence from the Georgia Department of Education. We think you rock, Martha! We can’t wait to see you rock it at Georgia Tech!
