Moriah Elise Smith

Moriah Elise Smith is beginning her third and final year in Northern Kentucky University’s SHEP program this fall as this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Oh My Gus Scholarship Award recipient, studying Early Childhood Education with graduation expected in May 2027.

This past year, Moriah learned to independently ride the campus bus, taking it off campus twice a week for her internship at the local library, a huge step toward the independent living she’s working toward. She also joined the NKU Women’s Ensemble, feeding her love of singing, dancing, and performing in front of an audience. Her goals ahead include becoming a Teacher’s Aide in an elementary school, living independently, and one day getting married.

Moriah is a true social butterfly, a bright light wherever she goes, and she never hesitates to introduce herself and strike up a conversation with someone new.

Congratulations on your final year, Moriah! Go out and dazzle on that stage, literally and figuratively.
