Melea I. Smith is starting her first year in UMSL’s Succeed+ program this fall as this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Will Family Scholarship Award recipient, heading into her overall third year of college with an interest in becoming a preschool or elementary teacher’s aide.
Melea made a 12 minute movie for her film class, an accomplishment she’s proud to have brought to life from start to finish. Her goals for the future are clear: get her own apartment and land a job.
Melea loves theater, TikTok, dancing, and spending time with friends.
