Mario Ray

Mario Ray is entering the second year of his two year program at Grand Canyon University’s L.O.P.E.S. Academy this fall as this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Scholarship Award recipient, with graduation expected in Spring 2027, still deciding on his exact area of focus.

Mario recently completed a service mission for his church, an accomplishment that reflects his heart for helping others. He’s a natural with people, loves sports, and has a real artistic streak. After graduation, his dream is to become an assistant basketball coach.

Mario follows the NBA closely, loves wakesurfing, dancing, playing video games, and getting in a good workout. He’s also a proud member of a hip hop dance group that lets his artistic side come through.
