Dashiell Meier

Dashiell Meier is continuing his studies in Media and Film Studies at Foothill College this fall, entering his third year of his degree program (and fourth year at Foothill overall) as this year’s Ruby’s Rainbow Scholarship Award recipient, with graduation expected in Spring 2028.

Dashiell has already built an impressive filmmaking career of his own. He recently released his first documentary short, This Is Me, which he made entirely himself, and he’s now hard at work finishing his first feature documentary, Worthy, about the history of Down syndrome. He also stars as Caden Cox, an epic human, athlete, and advocate, in the upcoming film 21 Down alongside a well known Hollywood actress, set to release in 2027. His ultimate goal is to work for Pixar one day.

Beyond filmmaking, Dashiell continues his public speaking and advocacy work, most recently serving on the Stanford University Down Syndrome/Alzheimer’s Working Group and speaking to the National Alzheimer’s Project Act Committee at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. When he’s not writing, directing, or acting, he loves reading, drawing, and dreaming up new stories.

Dashiell, your storytelling is already changing how the world sees Down syndrome. We’re eager to see Worthy come to life!
