Moriah Elise Smith: Northern Kentucky University – SHEP

Moriah is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Attainable Scholarship Award. This fall, she begins her freshman year in the SHEP program at Northern Kentucky University, where she plans to study early childhood education. Her future plans include being a teacher’s aide in an elementary school, living independently, getting married someday, and learning to drive.

In her free time, Moriah enjoys cheerleading, swimming, singing, dancing and making TikTok videos. In high school, she was active in cheerleading, concert choir, Unified track and field, and swimming, and won medals in Special Olympics swimming. She was also on the prom court, and says, “I definitely rock my extra chromosome!”

We believe in you, Moriah! Keep on rockin’ that extra chromosome in college!
