Lily Gilbertson: Minnesota Independence College and Community

Lily is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Truman Pins Memorial Scholarship Award. This fall, she begins her sophomore year at Minnesota Independence College and Community (MICC), where she is studying health and human services. Her future plans include successfully completing the program at MICC and going on to live semi-independently.

Lily is an avid gymnast and YouTuber. Those who know her describe her as outgoing and fun-loving, yet she also understands the importance of education and working hard to achieve her goal of living and working as independently as possible. She loves attending MICC, where she can live, learn and grow among her peers, and is proud of having successfully completed her first year there.
