Tessa Bailey – Macomb Community College (Incredible Ivy Scholarship Award)

Tessa is a three-time Rockin’ Recipient and this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Incredible Ivy Scholarship Award. This fall she begins her third year at Macomb Community College, where she is working toward her Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Culinary Arts. After she graduates, she wants to be a chef at her own restaurant or food truck.

Tessa’s hobbies include reading, doing puzzles, listening to music, going to plays and spending time with her family. She is very proud to have presented a sustainability project in front of her class—the professor even asked if he could use it as an example for future classes.

Tessa worked for a winery this past summer, selling wine at a farmers market—a job she chose because of a Wine Appreciation class she especially loved at MCC. She plans to take Advanced Wine Appreciation, and might even take the sommelier test. She says, “I am happy and excited for this school year! I hope someday I can combine my love of cooking and acting. Maybe I can be on the Food Network.”
