Pilar Rivera – University of North Texas ELEVAR (Aaron Anderson Scholarship Award)

Pilar is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Aaron Anderson Scholarship Award. This fall she begins her sophomore year in the ELEVAR program at the University of North Texas, where she is studying education. After she graduates, she plans to get an apartment and learn to drive.
Pilar loves swimming and dancing, and she is a member of the UNT Emeralds Dance team. She has been a Special Olympics athlete for 13 years, and continues to compete in swimming and gymnastics. She is proud to have competed in the Special Olympics National Games in both 2018 and 2022.
