Lauren Taylor – Appalachian State University Scholars with Diverse Abilities Program (Zeke Layer Scholarship Award)

Lauren is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Zeke Layer Scholarship Award. This fall she begins her first year in the Scholars with Diverse Abilities Program at Appalachian State University. Her goal is to develop her employment and independent living skills in college so she can live on her own someday and work at a fulfilling job.

Lauren already has lots of work experience. She graduated high school over four years ago and has been working full time ever since. In her free time, she loves playing sports and spending time with friends. She is very proud to have been on the inaugural Charlotte FC Unified Team. Now she is looking forward to immersing herself in campus life and becoming a Mountaineer.
