2023

Hunter-Reno-square-scaled-1-1

Hunter is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Baboo Scholarship Award. This fall he begins his freshman year in the Lions Connected program at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he plans to study public speaking. Someday, he plans to work, have a house of his own, and get married.

In high school, Hunter served as the manager of the girls’ basketball team, which won the state championship in 2022. In January 2023, he was invited to be a panelist at the Louisiana Special Olympics Leadership State Conference. He also served on the Special Education Advisory Panel for his school district, and is proud to have served in ROTC for four years in high school.

You might see Hunter and his dog, Belle, on the big screen in the movie The Lucky One with Zac Efron. His hobbies include going to concerts, listening to music, eating sushi, drinking coffee and hanging with his friends. Recently, Hunter was able to meet his favorite band, Big Time Rush, and see them in concert! He is so excited to begin his college experience and has already signed up for two clubs on campus.

Hunter is honored to be the recipient of the 2023 Ruby’s Rainbow Baboo Scholarship Award and wishes to thank everyone that helped his dream become a reality!

We are so proud of you, Hunter—you rock!
