Markus J. Lanier – University of Oklahoma Sooner Works (Sarah Jane Lewis Scholarship Award)

Markus is this year’s recipient of the Ruby’s Rainbow Sarah Jane Lewis Scholarship Award and a freshman in the Sooner Works program at the University of Oklahoma.
Markus says, “I am so grateful for this opportunity I am given. I can’t wait to show the world that we are more alike than different. Down syndrome is what I was born with but not who I am, and I can’t wait to see where this take me. It is only the beginning. I want to say thank you to everyone who helped me get here—my teachers and especially my mom, and my support system for believing in me! BOOMER SOONER!!”
